Pro-Pic Sneak Peak!

Our professional photos are finally here. I just got back from my broadcast with Mrs. Corn on BeeTV and I'm exhausted and have to go to bed...but I had to share at least ONE photo before I went to sleep!

Enjoy -- there is LOTS more to come, I promise :)

How to decide who to marry??

How To Decide Who to Marry: By Kids
By: Salma Rumman
Kids Contemplate Marriage.

How would you make your marriage work?
Tell your wife that she looks pretty, even if she looks like a truck.
Ricky, age 10

How can a stranger tell if two people are married?
You might have to guess, based on whether they seem to be yelling at the same kids.
Derrick, age 8

What do you think your mom and dad have in common?
Both don’t want any more kids.
Lori, age 8

What do most people do on a date?
Dates are for having fun, and people should use them to get to know each other. Even boys have something to say if you listen long enough.
Lynnette, age 8 (isn’t she a treasure?)

On the first date, they just tell each other lies and that usually gets them interested enough to go for a second date.
Martin, age 10

What would you do on a first date that was turning sour?
I’d run home and play dead. The next day I would call all the newspapers and make sure they wrote about me in all the dead columns.
Craig, age 9

Note: this is Mr. Onion's favorite

When is it okay to kiss someone?
When they’re rich.
Pam, age 7

The law says you have to be eighteen, so I wouldn’t want to mess with that.
Curt, age 7

The rule goes like this: If you kiss someone, then you should marry them and have kids with them. It’s the right thing to do.
Howard, age 8

What is the right age to get married?
Twenty-three is the best age because you know the person FOREVER by then.
Camille, age 10

No age is good to get married at. You got to be a fool to get married.
Freddie, age 6 (very wise for his age)

Is it better to be single or married?
I don’t know which is better, but I’ll tell you one thing. I’m never going to have sex with my wife. I don’t want to be all grossed out.
Theodore, age 8

It’s better for girls to be single but not for boys. Boys need someone to clean up after them.
Anita, age 9 (bless you child)

How do you decide whom to marry?
You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming.
Alan, age 10

No person really decides before they grow up who they’re going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you’re stuck with.
Kristen, age 10

couples gatherings

Were you among the first or last of your friends to get married? I was among the first, so hanging out with other couples (engaged, married or otherwise) isn't something we did very often. Three months before our wedding Mr. Onion's cousin got married and they live here in NYC. As a result we've started to socialize with them more often. A few months ago we had them over to our place for dinner and tonight they've invited us to their apartment for dinner. So of course I had to use my stand mixer yesterday.

I asked his wife what was Mr. Onion's cousin's favorite cake was -- the answer was red velvet. I've never made it before, but I figured I could figure it out (with the help of www.foodnetwork.com). So yesterday, in between chatting on BeeTV, I got to work.

The recipe I used from the Food Network came out a little dry (both because it didn't call for oil, just butter and also because they were cupcakes not cakes I imagine changed the cook time). So -- to compensate Mr. Onion had the great idea of cutting out a bit and filling the middle with Nutella, THEN putting the cream cheese frosting on top! I have to admit, they tasted great.

His cousin and his wife got us a cupcake carrier from Crate and Barrel as a wedding gift so I get to show up at their apartment for dinner with the carrier filled with cupcakes! So fun (OK, I know I'm a geek, but I love to bake).

Surprise Proposal

Mr. Onion sent me the sweetest video of a TV show proposal. What an undertaking to have so many people in on it without her knowing!! Check out the video below:

I totally cried! Have you ever been involved in helping others get engaged? If so please comment and share your stories -- post pictures or videos if you have them!

Snapfish photo cards are here!

I posted on Wednesday when I ordered our holiday greeting cards from Snapfish.com. They arrived in 2 days even though they said it would take 5-7 business days. I'll be addressing them tomorrow so I can start spreading the holiday "joy" asap! Here they are:

Valid only until tomorrow, December 1st, 30% off orders of $30 or more. Just enter coupon code: AFFORDER30.

We ordered 80 glossy photo cards and by using the 30% off coupon code, they cost $.46each which included tax and delivery! I'd highly recommend Snapfish after such a great turn around time, great prices and a great product.

Rings and Change

Last night on the new BeeTV chat, the topic of ring finger sizes came up. There was some amazement at how small my fingers are (2 3/4 -- yes that's two and three quarters) and you all wanted proof. So, as promised, I photographed my wedding ring, e-ring and Mr. Onion's wedding ring next to a dime, penny and quarter for reference and my finger next to a pencil.

The one thing I didn't photograph was my ring inside Mr. Onion's ring -- I should have because it's really cute! Mr. Onion's ring finger is about a size 9 although we're not sure because it had to be re-sized to fit perfectly.

So, what size is your wedding ring finger?!

Wedding photos = holiday cards!

What is the perfect thing to do with wedding photos hot off the presses? Why make a photo greeting card of course. Last year Mr. Onion & I bought our first couple holiday card with an few engagement photos from Kodak Gallery. While we were happy with the product and the customer service we ended up having to go back and forth with them for too long to make me happy.

This year I decided to see what Snapfish.com had to offer and I just fell in love with this hip retro style green card that was a perfect color contrast for the candid photo I picked of us right after our ceremony. The card is under their "holiday chic" section. Coupon Code Below!

I love that we look so happy and are looking toward the word "JOY" on the card. It's simple and festive and for $.45 each, I think it's a great bargin. I'll be sure to take a few photos of it when they arrive.

Of course I never place an on-line order without looking for a coupon code and hooray -- I found a 30% off orders of $30 or more. Just enter coupon code: AFFORDER30. Valid through December 1, 2007.
